My Story

bEN dER mATOIAN, M.S., CES, CSCS

I’m Bender, a personal trainer and fitness coach with a mission to make fitness a transformative experience. My own journey began with struggles that many can relate to: from being underweight to later becoming overweight by following the wrong advice (see below), I’ve been through the highs and lows. These experiences ignited my passion for evidence-based fitness and drove me to pursue formal education and advanced certifications so I could help others find a more effective, sustainable path to their health goals.

Armed with a Master’s degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Sport Performance, a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with a concentration Exercise Science, and advanced certifications including CSCS and CES. I’ve developed a unique approach to fitness that blends science-backed methods with a client-centered focus. I’ve had the privilege of working with clients in various settings, from commercial gyms to private facilities and now online, tailoring my approach to each individual’s needs.

One of my core principles is addressing imbalances, managing injuries, and restoring posture to alleviate pain and improve movement. I emphasize form, mobility, and corrective exercises to help clients build a resilient foundation for lifelong fitness. Whether you’re focused on weight loss, strength, or enhanced mobility, my goal is to help you reach those goals efficiently, without unnecessary wear and tear.
